Official: Mongolia to ask Russia for large ruble loan soon
MOSCOW, Jan 19 (PRIME) -- After settling the write-off of financial liabilities to Russia, Mongolia will ask for a new large ruble-denominated loan, Deputy Finance Minister Sergei Storchak said at a meeting with the State Duma, the parliament’s lower chamber on Tuesday.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Duma was recommended to ratify an agreement on full settlement of Mongolia’s liabilities to Russia signed on October 14, 2010.
“Naturally, after this subject has been regulated, Mongolia will resume the question. It asked for a financial loan, ruble-denominated, large a long time ago. Whereas we used to say that we have unregulated issues not long ago… now, we will have to start negotiations,” Storchak said.
On Monday, Storchak said that Russia has no possibility to give new loans in the foreseeable future.
